Before and After: Baton Rouge Countertops

Before and After: Baton Rouge Countertops

Posted on: July 2nd, 2019

When it comes to home interiors, everyone enjoys seeing a good before and after. HGTV practically devotes an entire television channel to them after all! As Baton Rouge’s premier source of countertops, furniture, and flooring, we get to see some beautiful before and after examples every day—including some great examples of Baton Rouge countertops. As much joy as we get from seeing these transformations, we know the homeowners love them even more.

Baton Rouge Countertops Remodel

While Stone and Cloth often works with contractors on new builds, many homeowners partner with us on remodels. We hear many reasons from customers as to why they want to redo their interiors. They could be looking to replace dated decor or increase their home’s value.  Whatever the reason, a remodel is an investment in your home and your family’s lifestyle.

In addition to flooring, countertops are often the most-cited element homeowners are hoping to change. In Baton Rouge, countertops can make a dramatic difference in a room’s beauty and utility. And you’ve never had more options: quartz, quartzite, marble, and granite. Each stone features a beautiful array of colors, patterns, and textures to blend with your home decor style.

A Beautiful Before And After

Take this recent flip we featured on Instagram. We like to call this kind of high-impact job, “miracle work.” It was a complete makeover: new cabinets, new countertops, new backsplash, new floors, and fresh paint. The team at Stone and Cloth selected, sourced, and installed all materials. Trusting us to handle every step of the process ensures quality and timeliness.

We started by opening up the space and choosing a hardwood floor to go underfoot. The countertops arguably have the most prominent role in tying the room together. For this particular kitchen, we used two different stones. Along the wall, we went with a dark gray granite. The denseness of granite makes it great for surfaces that see a lot of wear and tear.

To mix it up, we chose a white quartzite for the counter opening up the kitchen into the living space. Quartzite’s beauty is matched only by its durability. We finished with a marble mosaic backsplash. We’re confident all of these surfaces will look gorgeous for years to come.
